    Hi all.

I want to replace the crappy lcd screen of my Toshiba Tecra R850. What I have now is a Samsung LTN156AT19-501. I want something better but I found nothing in the web where I can check the compatibility with this screen.

The screen itself looks pretty standard. 15.6", WXGA, LED backlight, 40 pins (bottom left), Slim. I thought at first I can replace this screen with another screen with same specs, But I saw a youtube video which stated that a LTN156AT19-501 is not compatible with LTN156AT19-801. Both screens haves same spec and both where found in Toshiba Tecra R850 notebook. The video didn't say however why they are not compatible.

So my question is how to verify the compatibility laptop lcd screens.

The LTN156AT19-801 uses an 8-bit wide LVDS interface, while the LTN156AT19-501 uses the more common 6-bit.

    I don't know. Have you tried Panelook[1]?
I don't think such tool exists but it's a very common display and it won't be hard to find a better replacement for it.
Check on Google and eBay and ask the dealers if it's a match! ;)

I'm looking for a better screen (color gamut, contrast, resolution) and I don't want the same one. This is the reason why I need datasheet and compatibility tool.

I'm very grateful for your help.

Some dealers allow you to choose a laptop model and will show what they have available, not necessarily the original part. Good luck!
