I usually had quite high temperatures when playing games but with a notebook cooling pad they've gone down quite a lot... so i wondering what would be stable clocks to overclock my 9600M GT. I have NVDIA system tools and from experience it works... i just want some examples for a stable OC as i heard u need to do the core memory and shader speed in some ratio.

Every GPU can overclock differently depending on how well it was manufactured.
Generally, you should keep the core and shader linked and not push the memory that much. -
I'm not sure if you can overclock yours, HP usually locks VBios so that it will not allow any frequency changes. However, if you do succeed, bumping 70-100MHz up for the core and memory should be fine, just keep it cool. Mine is DDR2 version too, so far my max stable overclock was about 650core/530mem (stock 500/400) Thats using nTune 5, SystemTools doesn't do well on my system for some reason. But if you use SystemTools, keep core/shader ratio of 1/2

well i know that there's some ratio that needs to be followed when ocing so what is the ratio? also i want examples for core clock, shader and memory clock...

Sorry, I was wrong, the ratio should be 1/2.5
core/shader ratio of 1/2.5 means that if you raise your core clock to, lets say, 550MHz, the shader clock has to be 1375MHz. As I said, i'm not using SystemTools because of stability issues. nTune works quite well for me, and it adjusts shaders automatically. -
what about the memory clock?

i dont think that over clocking has rules.Just increase the clocks by %10 and all things will be fine.then monitor the temps.
Also i got a 8600m gs on my hp pavilion with using cooling pad it is 87c while gaming.So i cant overclock.
what is your temp while using a cooling pad and gaming? -
it used to be 80+ without cooling pad but now hovers around 80... i'll push it up slightly untill it reaches 85

Okay then, 575/1435/500 is a very safe bet, but I'm sure 600/1500/525 is worth testing as well.

It wont wreck the card if you OC too high, its only when your messing around with voltages it starts getting dangerous. It will downclock itself before any damage could be done. But if your OC is too high and makes the card too hot, like over 90c, for long periods of time, it will die very soon.
