Need help quick about to make a purchanse and need info on the lcd

i have been going through this huge fiasco with dell trying to get a decent lcd and to be honest the samsung and the lg were crap... i believev the samsung was sec something and the lg was lpl 0000. Out of the 5 replacements I got only one was half way decent but had dead pixels. I am looking at alienware but they use the same lg and samsung model screens. My question is have samsung and lg made revisions to their lcds since 05? I checked powerstrip and they put an lg from q1 2005 in my lappy. WTF is that about. Anyways any insight on this would be great. I am very picky and hate sparkle effect. I am looking for best possible lcd and the two options are the lpl 0000 and teh samsung LTN170WU-L02. When I search for the samsung one nothing comes up until I take the "l02" part out of it so does that mean they have another revision of it? I read somewhere the lg has a type 2 model since they had defects with vertical lines in 05. Please help. Thanks
