    Hi

I'm new here and I also just bought a M17 laptop with 2GB of RAM, i'm planning on upgrade it to 4GB, even though they offcially annouced release of 8GB of RAM but I don't know is it really worth $850, all I do on this laptop is for school work and gaming (not much), please tell me how much different between 4GB of RAM and 8GB of RAM. the computer seems pretty slow with 2GB of RAM.

Lastly, some1 please give me and recommendation for 4GB of RAM (price & link would be appreciated).

    Thank you very much.

Wow. The difference between 4GB ram and 8GB ram is exactly 4GB ram. 8GB kits are way too expensive right now and unless you use your laptop in the professional applications, there is no need for 8GB at the moment. You can buy another laptop with the amount of money Alienware is asking for.

I am going to assume that you are running Vista. You will notice a modest performance boost moving from 2GB to 4GB.

All major memory brands back their products with a lifetime warranty, so it doesn't matter which one you get. As long as the modules aren't bad, find the best deal and pull the trigger. Newegg is always a good starting place to shop.
