Hey guys, I'm going to be picking up a Kingston HyperX SSD tomorrow.
I plan to install into in an Asus G53SW-XA1 laptop. Could anyone provide me with a short guide on how to properly set up my computer for it? I already know how to disassemble, reinstall the SSD, and put it back together. What I need to know is what bios settings I need to setup, any specific things I should do prior to installing it(firmware upgrade?), and anything else I should know. (I plan to do a clean install of Windows 7 HP 64bit) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking your time to read this ! :D

No need for any special things, you could just check that AHCI mode is being used in the bios setup.

Setting up should be easy, use Windows disk and point to the SSD. It should automatically disable defrag, xxfetch, etc.

In Windows 7, the auto-optimization of SSD's are pretty good, so you don't need to tweak much, as it even aligns the SSDs before the Windows installation.

So the only thing I need to do is check that AHCI mode is enabled in the bios?
Windows should be able to handle everything else?(I'll check to make sure though)
Thanks so much for the quick reply ! :p

    Yes, pretty much.

Don't worry about all the registry tweaks, etc. about SSDs, it will all be plenty fast for you to enjoy the speed of the SSD out of the box.

    Good luck with your install.
