    Need help with connecting laptop to TV with S-Video

    I have connected my Dell Vostro 1400 to my TV using an S-Video cable but only the Picture comes up and not the sound through my Tv, instead the sound is outputted through my laptop. How do i connect my laptop to my TV so that the sound can also be ouputted by my TV? What lead to i need?

    I do not really know about this but is Christmas so here I go! You need to take the "line out" or the like and plug in the TV and you will be fine! The S-Video is exactly that, Video! Nothing more nothing less! I can understand your confusion but that is how it works, if someone can do better I welcome as I mentioned I do not know! Good Luck Bro and merry Xmas!

    Get a 3.5mm to phono male audio cable, plug the 3.5mm plug into the speaker/headphone socket of your laptop, and the phono cable(s) into the audio ports next to the S-Video port on your TV.

    Yep, those would work, assuming that you have those plugs in the back of your tv, which you most likely do.
