    Need help with dell xps m1730

    Hi i am new to the forum so bare with me.I am from the Uk and am waiting for my dell xps m1730 but while i wait im i need of some ram.Main reason it is only 2gb of ram at moment and want to upgrade to 8gb of ram.I undurstand that it will work with the a10 bios update.do i need 64 bit version of windows 7 for it to work ? plus what ram is best to use for example 2x 4gb ? and is it ddr2 ? and any additional info would be great :).

    Yes, tell us what you are doing before buying up to 8GB RAM. It is best reserved for special needs.

    @tilleroftheearth: And 8GB RAM works for the M1730. Ignore those reports that says "Up to 4GB Max". It's always better to ask owners who own them, that is just the standard amount that will give. Look at my sig.

    you can use 8GB RAM....just make sure u update to the latest BIOS before installing the RAM...
