    Hi everyone!

I'm facing a small issue these days. Recently I purchased brand new HP ProBook 430 G3 (i3 6100U, 4GB DDR3, 500HDD) for a bargain of 350 euros. I've already ordered an SSD, more RAM, backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader, since I want this one to be my primary work machine.
Problem I have right now is an awful 13.3'' 768p TN screen. Colors are washed-out, viewing angles terrible and most of all it's kinda blueish and makes my eyes sore fast. I've already replaced 15.6" TN 768p screen with a same size IPS 1080p on my Acer E5 that luckily had 2 lane EDP port.
What I want to ask you is if this model has 2 lane eDP cable or 1 lane (having 2 lane means I can go for FHD)?
If it's 1 lane than what are my chances on getting proper 2 lane cable? If it all fails I will settle for 768p ISP, BUT(!) I can't seem to find a compatible model, because of mounting holes. On laptop's original screen they're located on left and right side. Best I found so far is panel without mountholes and one with top/bottom configuration. Any sort of modding can be done here to fit it in?
P.S. I really don't care about voiding my warranty, since I service all my machines.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I spelled "panel" wrong in the title, see no way to edit. Sorry

Go to HP support page for your laptop, select manuals and download service manual for your model.

If there is a 1600x900 or 1080p panel listed, then there will be a cable for it too. With part numbers you can use to search and buy one.

I did this on a hp elitebook a while back. Replaced the 768 1024 with a FHD panel. Somehow the board died a month later. I swapped it back and rmad it and they fixed it. Didnt do it again for fear of recking it.

I bought the same screen with connector. The only issue was the screws were different but i double sided taped it

That would be best answered by HP where you bought the laptop from. Not all parts are interchangeable or available to swap.

    Hello voolandis,

Have you figured out about eDP cable for your laptop. Is it 2 lane or 1 lane?

    Thank you.
