If there's already a guide about these I'd love a link... I suck at searching apparently :S
Copper heatsinks... Small, square, made of copper with adhesive tapes on one side.... That's what you call these right?

I've decided to try some of these on my new laptop after it arrives.
The problem is I'm not really sure where I'm supposed to apply these on, and where I shouldn't.
All I know is depending on how I put them they might disrupt airflow inside the laptop.. (I've ordered a clevo p651se, for reference)
So my questions:
1. Where should I put these on? Where should I NEVER put them at? Recommendations would be nice. (e.g. on sdds? heatpipes?) I know they're mainly intended for rams, but I've seen others use them on different places on the board.
2. How often should I replace them? I've heard they can cause electric problems if they fall off... I wouldn't want that.

Don't bother. Unless you plan on modding the bottom of your laptop for improved airflow it won't matter. You need to strategically place them on the heatpipes to improve the cooling. But considering this thing runs CPU <75C and GPU <62C for the most part, it isn't necessary. Only thing those would be good for is a cooling mod where you open up the bottom panel and pass more air over the "hot spots" to dissipate heat more quickly. Just adding those will slow the temperatures from rising for a bit, but will ultimately reach the same temps unless it's actively cooled.
Need help with these mini copper heatsinks..
