I've set up 5 other hard drives enclosures with no problem. This time I decided to get a Seagate 1 TB SATA HD and pair it up with a nice enclosure to back up some of the data on my laptop.

I set up the enclosure and hooked everything up(USB/power), but the hard drive won't show up. Seatools managed to see the drive, I can perform tests on it which it passes.

Does anyone know what might be the problem? There's only one jumper to worry about and all it does is limit the esata speed to 1.5 GB/s which doesn't really affect me since I'm accessing it through USB.

    Thanks for reading!

Did you partition/format the drive yet? Look in Disk Management.

I can't see the drive in disk management.

The HD makes sounds and seems like its powering on. That couldn't be the fan tricking me could it?

The controller in the enclosure is not supporting such HD size, that's why, I guess.

The Antec MX-1 should support 1 TB.

Test the drive in the PC internally. If it works, then you may have a faulty enclosure.

My problem is I don't have a desktop to test it in. Does anyone know Best Buy's return policy in this type of situation?
