Hey, thanks for reading this post first of all.

I have a HP dv2550se that recently died on me.
    http://www.studentbuyingguide.com/2007/07/hp-verve-dv2550se-review/

I get this one long beep and two short beeps. I researched and apparently the only permanent solution of fixing this problem is replacing the motherboard, because the problem lies with the integrated GPU.

    So, my question is...

I would like to revive this laptop by either finding a laptop or desktop barebone, or desktop motherboard (socket P) that is compatible with rest of working parts at reasonable price. Could anyone suggest me any parts that I may be interested in looking at, please? (Or, any other possible solutions are welcomed.)

I apologize if this post doesn't belong to this particular forum.
Anyways, thank you for any input in advance!

    SP

Another option would be to find a replacement motherboard from E-Bay. Not sure how difficult gutting your HP would be, however. Some laptops are easier than others to replace the mobo in, however, even the most "simple" are fairly complex for that operation.

Trash? That cpu is poop. Maybe find a freind with a celeron and upgrade it. Or ebay people will pay up to $250 for your broken laptop.

Thanks for the replay to both of you. Seems like selling what I have on eBay seems to be the best solution for my situation :)
