    Hi is it possible to uprade the cpu in acer aspire 5102wlmi currently it has AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology MK-38 (2.2 Ghz 512KB L2 Cache) i would like to upgrade it to amd Turion 64X2 the dual core processor. Thx


    One more thing it has ati mobility radeon x1300 video card is it possible to replace that as well thx in advance i look forward for ur suggestions and solutions.

    Any Turion X2 should fit considering they are all Skt S1 based systems. One hing to note that the BIOS may or may not support the newer 65nm based cpu's. So, make sure you have the latest BIOS before upgrading. Honestly you would have to get a Turion X2 TL64(2.2GHz) or over to match the single core performance of the MK 38. Not worth it IMO unless you are able to get the cpu at a low price.

    As for as the GPU is concerned it probably wont be upgradable considering Acer have never used modular graphics cards.
