I have heard many of the members here having success with getting the Intel pm965 to run a qx9300 by underclocking the cpu's requested FSB. I would love to get this to work on my m1730. This is my first pinmode so I need some extra information. Before I go on with the questions here what I have tried....
- Bsel0 to ground via this tutorial http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...intel-gl960-gl40-useful-info-pll-modders.html
Tried it last night and had my board failed. It did not damage the motherboard at all.
Now for what I need answers to:
Do I need to bend or break pins on the CPU in order to get this to work? (as I said I am new to this, please do not make fun of me for asking this)
Has anyone been able to get post with this cpu and mod?

The best you can achieve is two working cores as far as I know. Then the X9000 is elready there.

You'll need A LOT more than a simple BSEL mod and a custom BIOS for that mater. This is the overall theory summary of what you'll need in order to get C2Q working on PM965. There are still some more refinements to be made. Sadly @RickiBerlin is gone from quite some time
For now, it's just a theory.
BTW The list is valid for all the Dual Core only PM45 MoBos as well.
This sums-it-up pretty well:

Thanks...seems I am at a dead end
Need tutoring for Bsel mod on m1730 to get a qx9300 to work with a Intel pm965
