    For a netbook running N450 or AMD L310 would 2Gb DDR3 be better than 3Gb DDR2?

    Thanks

I would take the netbook with the L310 processor since it will allow you to upgrade past 2gb unlike (as far as I can tell) the N450 which is still stuck at 2gb. If all things were equal and you were given the choice I would pick the DDR3 RAM as it will be more plentiful in the near future and less costly.

Laptop DDR3 is not faster in real-world use than DDR2, as they are both dual channel. RAM speed will make the difference, and even that will be negligable.

Beyond that, you cannot run DDR3 in a machine designed for DDR2, so you're stuck with whatever your computer comes with anyway.

Yeah, forget DDR3 is better than DDR2 (although it is, given the right supporting components).

What matters is 3GB RAM is better than 2GB RAM.

Like Explosivpotato said, you'll be stuck with whatever your machine comes with, so ensure that you're able to put more RAM in it, rather than be stuck with theoretically 'better', but less RAM.

    Cheers!
