    Would it be safe to assume that these are the worthless JMicron drives? Or did they somehow manage to get the cost of a Samsung/Indilinx/Intel controller way down?

    yah, I think they are the jMicron. If you use linux they don't stutter.

    some Acer aspire one A110 uses intel SSDs. I don't know if they use jMircron controller though.
