    Hello,

I recently bought refurbished netbook(MSI Wind) from eBay. Everything worked and looked like a brand new netbook. However, today the netbook did not turn on through AC, netbook was not able to detect any power source from AC. When I tried to turn on from the battery, it worked.

I thought that it was my AC that's at fault so when I went to Bestbuy, they were able to test the AC's power through metering gauge. They told me that there's nothing wrong with AC. So I bought universal AC from Bestbuy and netbook still would not turn on. Is it wise for me to trust their words about my AC not working through metering test? In terms of reliability, how good is universal AC adapter? Like I said before, I was able to turn on the netbook through battery.

Where can I get a AC that's compatible for my netbook (MSI Wind)?

    Thank you,

do you know if the AC you got from ebay is the matching one that came with it (AC provided by the manufacturer)? they might have packaged you a universal one like you bought at bestbuy. if your MSI has a powerful GPU, it could be under the required voltage for it to be detectable. If not, there could be something wrong with the motherboard and the AC connection.

Bestbuy's story seems to hold up that there is nothing wrong with it if the universal AC you bought didn't work either...

The MSI Wind is a netbook; the whole system probably draws less power than a full-size notebook GPU.

If there's nothing wrong with the AC adapter, then your problem is probably the power connector in the notebook itself.

No, you cant trust Best Buy. Best Buy employees are HIGHLY uneducated. They are basically people who cant get a real IT job due to lack of knowledge.. Never go to Best Buy if you have a computer issue.
