Can a netbook fit any laptop hdd in it. I was thinking of replacing the ssd for a larger laptop drive are they a universal fitment?

Depends, some netbooks used 1.8" SSD's in which case you would need to verify notebook HDD that you are going to use has the same interface and physical size. Most notebook HDD's are 2.5" and SATA these days.
-
Thanks but most netbooks should be compatible with notebook hdds?
-
most but not all can take 2.5" drives. what netbook are we talking here?

jackluo923 Notebook Virtuoso
Most SSD based netbook with SSDs will not take 2.5" hdds.
-
not one specifically but just looking I noticed the one with the smaller ssd drives are cheaper I am looking to get one for under 200
-
jackluo is correct. Most of the netbooks with SSD's will use 1.8" with varying connections (some use PATA ZIF cables).
-
I know of at least 3 different systems and neither interchange.
Some netbooks take a standard 1.8in Sata.
Some use a standard 2.5in Sata.
Some use a mini-pci-e connection that is actually a Pata connection.
Just depends on the netbook.
