Hello
I have bought a new LCD screen for my laptop, as the one I had was broken. Now I have install it and everything works fine, but the brightness control, pressing Fn+ Up & Down I can not control the degree of brightness the way I used, it seems that it goes brighter and darker without following the usual gradient.
Any one has an idea about what is the problem and what could I do?
Thanks in advance
Daniel

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
What do you mean by "it seems that it goes brighter and darker without following the usual gradient"? Is it changing brightness by itself? If so, see if you have an ambient light sensor (I don't recall if they had them on the 640m yet) and disable it.
Else, the last time something like this happened to me, it was just a matter of re-seating the inverter cable and the display connector. -
I mean that when the computer works fine, when you press Fn + Up you get a brighter screen and when you press Fn+Down you get it darker. Now if I press Fn+Up once the screen gets brighter, if I press again Fn+up it goes darker, so I am not able to set the degree of brightness I want. The computer has let´s say 8 degress of brightness and I am only able to achieve 3 or 4 and no one of them is bright enough for working properly.
Thanks for your help
