I just purchased my first laptop, the Asus W3v, and I am wondering what I need to do to maximise its potential. I used the optimizing your laptop thread and that has been helpful, now I am wondering what I need to do to update the bios and which drivers you all would recommend for the x600 (Omega? or ati's?. I have also scrapped norton and am using avg and zonealarm, as well as adaware/spybot. Am I forgetting anything?

Also- I was interested in undervolting it. Would that reduce the heat produced at all? Can anyone offer a link to an undervolting tutorial? There used to be one on notebookforums, but its seems to have been deleted.

    Asus W3v- oh yeah!

I know the post you're referring to. Too bad it was moved/deleted. Did you search for it?

Here's another post from another forum that talks about underclocking. It may offer some insight.
