I'm interested in getting a bigger HDD on my T61, but I'm not interested in having to reinstall everything and what not. I'm sure there's software out there to transfer your files to a new HDD then install it. Can anyone link me to one that's free?

And how would i do it? I have a WD Passport 120GB external. I don't know how to open the case ( it's screwless ) but I could buy a new HD manage to stick it in there and hook it up the the laptop that way? I mean i'm going to have to be able to access both HDDs simultaneously right? So one would be installed int he computer while the other is an external as I transfer the data right? So could anyone tell me how or point in me in the direction of a site/thread that explains everything? thanks all.

Try Acronis TrueImage Workstation. It has a free 15 day trial copy you can download. Just use an external firewire (or usb, if that's all you have) enclosure for the new drive.
