    New Ram Help Please

    i have just got my son a ( fujitsu siemens alimo m3438g )

    i need to get more ram in it as it has only 512 on 2 x 256 sticks. i am looking at taking it upto 1gig atleast. but i have 2 problems i cant afford to spend much as this was his birthday present as has already cost me to much so i need to get it cheap as i can. 2 prob is that i have been looking on the net and ebay but i have no idea what to buy there are so many diff kinds and types. the ram in it at the min is 512 DDR SDRAM (2GB Maximum) can anyone help me with what ram i can get to put in it as i am completely lost

    ddr2 sodimm 533mhz (pc4200) is what you're looking for.

    How long has you son have this laptop. If its not long then let him use it for a month or two. If he does not need more RAM there is no point buying more. Wait to the sales. Its not going to kill him if he does not have more RAM in his laptop. So think does he really need this/more RAM.

    thanks for both replies and yes he does need the ram as he is playing high end games on it so the ram is needed i dont understand thou the ram i have insidfe is ( ddr sdram ) yet u say i should get ddr2 is this the same or different or dont it maker any diff

    sorry if asking stupid question but i know nothing and thanks for any help
