Thanks in advance for your opinion,
I had my hp dv6 for about 20 days (specification in signature below)
it came with Toshiba MK1509GSM drive (1 TB.)

when I first checked my Hdd. it was O.K. and without problem.
few days ago I rechecked my Hdd. and it report:
reallocated sector count warning (value = 8)

today I rechecked and it report:
reallocated sector count warning (value = 16)

as you can see in attached files, I used different applications i.e., Crystal Disk Info, Acronic drive monitor, and HD tune, all show the same warning.
but Hp assistant drive check says O.K.
    also boot check says O.K.

what is your opinion, is the drive failing? do I need to backup my files and prepare another drive?? what is your experience with this drive??

    Toshiba makes HDD's?

Seriously, you need to remove your data, wipe the drive and return this as soon as possible. No matter if the hp assistant doesn't know which end is up yet.

thanks I'll backup my data, meanwhile I'll give it a try for few days and keep monitoring as if I have to replace the Hdd. it will be on my expense, there is no valid warranty where I live.

If you're buying it anyways: WD Scorpio Black 750GB. To at least semi-match the performance of the rest of your system.

Lol... My old Hp had a Toshiba hard drive too.

Anyways backup your data and wait for it to fail. I would ask Hp to send you a new hard drive since a 20 day old laptop shouldn' fail.
