I've got a IBM R51e and im thinking of upgrading my cpu.

Right now it's equiped with a Celeron M 380 CPU but i have a T2300 cpu and it fits in the socket but i'm not sure if it will work.

If it doesn't work. Which cpu's are compatible with the model?

In CPU-Z it says that it is a IBM 1844 DTG motherboard. But i can't find any info about this motherboard.

    Thanks

Sorry, but if the bios doesn't support the cpu it may not even boot up. Besides your celery processor, your mobo supports these: Intel Mobile Pentium M 740(1.7GHz), 750(1.86GHz), 770(2.13GHz)

More details are available here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-61360.html

Yeah, OP is going to need a Pentium M with a 533MHz FSB, or could try the Pentium M pin-mod (it might work with the Celeron 380 bringing it up to 2.13 GHz).

If i try to boot with the t2300 in, is there a possibility of mi t2300 getting fried or worse the mobo

I doubt the CPU will fit in the socket.

Umm, if you got it to physically fit you're in trouble already.

Intel purposely moved a pin so that socket M CPU's won't fit into socket 479 mobos, so it sounds like you broke a pin on your T2300.

If the CPU is electrically incompatible, there is a chance that some component could get stroked the wrong way..

The T2300 is not going to work in a R51e. Why waste your time? From a performance perspective you're probably better off upgrading to a faster drive anyway.
