I just got new Dell Inspiron 15R special edition with following specs:
    Core i5 3210m
    6 GB Ram
    Radeon 7730m graphics
    750 GB Hard Disk
    15.6" Screen[1080p]
    90w powersupply

After I login into windows, the laptop shutdowns abruptly after few seconds. This happens even when the powersupply is connected. However, I did notice the fan noise getting loud just before the shutdown.

This happens for sometime only, after rebooting it for 1-2 times...it doesn't happen.

Is it hardware or software problem?

Note: This was no problem in windows 7. I just got fresh installation of windows 8, updated the bios. It was working fine for a day.

    Please Help!!!
    Thanks

Try safe mode? Maybe there's a problem in the Windows 8 kernel or some other software which tries loading up right after login and causes the the whole system to go kaput. I would guess such a thing because you state the fan gets louder (as is spins faster) right before shutdown? That's indicative of something causing the CPU usage to go to 100% and overload it.
