Color me interested, though I really need more of a 240GB drive, rather than a 180GB drive. Also, depends on Sandforce or not.
-
I think it is Sandforce. It have the same typical SF capacity, 60/120/180/240. Plus the speeds of the 180GB is very like the 180GB Intel 520.
But I have to ask though: If it is sandforce then what separate 330 series from the 520 series? What is the purpose of the 330 series? -
Probably the lower end SF controller. Speeds will be different. I'll pass on SF.

According to some other posters and a firestorm on Intel's forum, they 320 series is having huge issues. Guess this is the "fix"

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I've owned 7 Intel 320 series SSDs, never had any issue with any. 330 will make me sadpanda if it is SandForce, I will refuse to buy it.
-
Nothing happened to my 320 160GB either, knocks on wood!
-
this smells soooo badly of sandforce drive with asynchronous memory.
Specs are near identical to those of agility3, different firmware tweak, nothing more.
@Intel... thumb down! -
i would let the intel name to broaden the test pool and hopefully iron out whatever bugs that remains in SF before I consider them
seems like the most reliable ones are still the old SATA2 generation of x25M G2 -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I believe anandtech tested the 520 series and found it no different than other SF controllers, so Intel didn't really improve anything. Perhaps LSI will fix SandForce issues. -
Best thing ever! And it's supposed to be cheap too
Intel 330 SSD leakage hints at bargain price tag, perhaps just $149 for 120GB -- Engadget
They did, but they said the SandForce BSOD is supposed to be fixed now... to some degree that is.

wow thats a pretty good price. Intel 320 120GB cost about $200.
We are getting closer to the $1/GB

Yes sir, at $1 a gig we are where we need to be on affordability for the mass adoption that will cause the platform to just explode over the next few years. I figure in a year or two, we will get down to $0.50. Exciting time indeed. -
what's wow about $150 async sf2 drive? there's whole bunch of them available right now for that kind of money.
And almost all of them can be found on discounts all the time for even less. -

Intel SSD 330 Series pricing leaked, arriving April 13?
Although an official announcement isn't expected until sometime around May -- according to recent rumors -- the Intel 330 SSD was spotted on various online web retailers over the weekend, revealing some additional details about the upcoming drive. These include the arrival of the SATAIII 6Gbps interface to Intel's budget SSD line and sequential read / write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s, respectively.

Looks real. Costcentral and Macmall have the 120 and 180gb for $140-145 and $240-245.
-
At the rate that we are going at now, I reckon a solid $0.30-0.50 per GB, it seems that a lot of laptops and desktop are into getting SSD's now a days!! It's one rapid growth

The fact that it is an Intel Drive, which is a Premium product. It will put some pressure to drive the prices down on the rest of the market further.
That flooding that stopped Physical Disc production for a while was a godsend for the SSD adoption crowd. Now that the word is out to even the average joe that SSD is the only way to fly, it will finally be the prominent technology within the next 2-3 years. Volume will go through the roof, prices will come down and capacities will double or quadruple. -
God damn it! I sensed I missed something, yes indeed, that flooding did turn quite some things around.
-
My 320's still running great.
Only issue is that I need more than 160GB, but can't afford the 300GB version...
I should invest in an Ultrabay adapter. -
I've never had any problems with my Intel 320....
