Hello, I am new to this forum but am finding lots of great information, Thanks!
Would someone please tell me the difference between a "media card slot" and an "express card slot"?
Thank you!

Media Cards are for storing media and includes cards like compact flash and SD.
Express Cards are 'system' cards replacing PCMCIA cards and can be for wireless, hard drives, etc.
The slot is where u stick the card

Express Card slot is an external format for various peripherals, including remotes, DVI out, sound cards, etc.
Media card slot, I'm not too familiar with that use of terms, but I would assume it is either PCMCIA or a media card reader. -
Welcome
A media card slot is for media cards, things like SD, xD, MemoryStick, etc. Only data storage. An ExpressCard is basically an external PCIe connector, so you can add many different devices such as a wireless card or device controller of some kind. -
Thanks for the quick responses. I appreciate your candor circa 69 and you are correct, I should take the little bit of time to search it myself...i'll work on it.
Now which of the following should I opt for based on the fact that I teach in a school with wifi and I want to be able to use hotspots? What is the difference?
Intel Wireless WiFi link 4965AGN
Intel Wireless WiFi link 4965AGN (11n disabled)
ThinkPad 11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI express adapter
ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini-PCI express adapter
Thanks. -
b and g will cover >90% of your hotspots
