I realize it refers to certain processors (or a certain architecture used in processors?) or something to that effect, and from what I've gathered it's 'good', to put it plainly, but what does that mean in semi technical terms? Are Core Duo 2s the only CPUs that have Santa Rosa? Are all Core Duo 2s Santa Rosa, or are some not? Is the T7300 a Santa Rosa chipset? Thanks.

yep T7300 is Santa Rosa. It goes something like this:
7100
7300
7500
like an odd pattern. But yea thats all I know and that it has 800Mhz Front Bus Speed. -
Actually no Santa Rosa refers to the platform not just the CPU. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrino#Santa_Rosa_platform_.282007.29

santa rose is just the architecture, it has an 800hmz front side bus and incorporates "centrino pro" (basically wireless draft-N *300Mbps*) it is suppost to use less power than the previous generation so extend battery like due to intels new version of cpu thermal throtteling (like on old amd chips)

The 5000 series C2D also have 800 FSB and, therefore, are "Santa Rosa."
-
no, not all 5000 series, only the series that has socket P because there are santa rosa processors that use a 667mhz fsb
there are C2D that are the old platform that uses only 667mhz and socket M
Newbie Question: What exactly is Santa Rosa?
