    Ok this laptop has been problem after problem, not the computers fault by mine. Anywho. last week I replaced the LED screen, pretty simple fix. Required a lot of dissassembly, but it was easy. Ok i have had a problem with the battery falling out if the laptop is not placed down softly enough. the battery kept on comeing out because a tiny little piece of plastic that holds it in, must have broke off. But last night the battery fell out while i was gameing. Now I cant get any power at all. It wont boot up even when plugged in. Did something get shorted when the battery fell out? why am i not getting any power to my laptop,, even when i plug it in, no indicator lights light up, the battery doesnt even warm up from it being charged at all.
    would this be a mobo issue?
    i took it apart and made sure the power connection is secured, and it is. so im not to sure what the problem is, so odd that the battery falls out, and then comp stops getting power all together

    What I would do;

    - Test AC adapter with multimeter

    - Try power on with a known good HP 90 watt AC adapter

    - Remove battery and AC adapter. Hold down power button for 30 seconds.

    After that there's not much to do but replace the motherboard.

    I doubt it. I've had notebook batteries fall out of a notebook before, did not short the motherboard.

    Try over in the Notebook Manufacturers / HP & Compaq / HP Pavilion Notebooks sub-forum here. I haven't had a HP for some years, having switched to Dell, but on the Dell side of things there's a good bit of repair advice here.

    Try rubbing alcohol and lint free cloth/cotton bud/swab.

    Nothing metal.

    ENSURE YOU DRY IT THOUROUGHLY BEFORE RECONNECTING BATTERY
