Hey guys. When I burn an .avi file onto a DVD and then throw it into my DVD player, it has no sound.

    Anything special I should do?

Note: These are vintage royalty-free movies. I've even tried throwing them in Sony Vegas and remaking it with no success.

What program are you using to burn?

More important, what system are you playing them on? If it's the same as the system it was burned on (and you're still not getting sound) then that should narrow the possibilities of where the problem might be. In the program perhaps?

Other than that, do you have audio checked? And I'll assume all plugs, switches and connections have been verified as well?

Heh well your first problem is Roxio.

If you don't want to pay for a program, I use IMGburn, very good free program.

And as Krane said, it all depends on what you are playing on. Does the DVD play fine on your computer. If it does then your DVD player is at fault.

This is not a problem of the burning application (I'd prefer ImgBurn over Roxio software either), but a problem of the software that is used to convert some AVI (which is a container for several different formats) to DVD video.

    To answer your questions:
    - DVD plays fine on the laptop used to burn it.
    - I'll try ImgBurn.
    - All plug/switches/connections verified.

I'll try ImgBurn and post if there's issues.
