Hello all
About a month ago my laptop (Toshiba L20) started to make a lot more noise than it usually used to, the noise turned from the gentle spinning fan noise into a vibration noise.
Upon opening the laptop i found that the fan had broken off a fin, causing the fan to spin unevenly and cause the vibration noise. Probably from me dropping or or something :S

Thats what my HSF looks like, i was trying to get a replacement fan but can only seem to find HSF combo's. The fan is molded onto the plastic. Is there any way to just replace the fan and not the whole heatsink or anyone know where i could purchase a cheap HSF set for my laptop.
To put in perspective how loud it is, if the DVD-ROM is spinning up while the fan is running you can barely hear the drive. It is livably but getting annoying!

If I'm not mistaken this item looks like your heatsink:

For a total listing of heatsinks (did a quick search on eBay):

Good luck with the fix!!

Hello, thanks for the quick reply.
Your a champ this is the right one L25/L20, last time i searched on ebay i found one for my laptop and it was like 35 pounds after shipping which was like $90 AUS or something ..... this one is a quarter of the price!
Taking it apart shouldn't be a problem I've done it like 5 times in the last few weeks, im getting fast at it too (which i suspect isn't a good thing)!!!
Is there anyway i can award you point on the forum or something ???? Coz i think you deserve some!
Just realised it doesnt ship to Australia, will ask the seller!
Noisy Fan
