    Have any of you been burned due to data corruption from non-ECC memory?

    Nope, literally never in 2 decades. Faulty RAM, sure, but never just from using non ECC.

    Reading some forums and articles you'd think people are losing data left and right.

    Maybe bit flips happen, but I've never lost any data or been affected in any way because of it.
