Is it possible to use a graphics card made for desktops in notebooks, or are the connections too different?
-
simply put; No.
the connections, size, space available, and cooling are all completely different from a desktop. And often completely different between laptop manufacturers. -
Graphics cards in laptops are custom integrated into the motherboard, and can't even be swaped with another laptop graphics card most of the time. Remember, laptops don't have extra drive bays, PCI/PCIe and AGP slots like desktops do.
