    Hi

I just installed a 2gb stick of ram into my laptop with an existing 512stick but it only recognizes one stick. It only recognizes the one in slot 1 (the bottom one) so, either 2gb or 512mb not 2.5gb. Does anybody know whats wrong? It didnt happen before i installed the new ram, i used to have 2x512mb .

    thanks

try taking it out and then reinstalling again. Maybe you didnt get it all the way in.

go to sager's website and download the latest Bios revision. You should upgrade the Bios, so that the memory has the best chance of being recognized.
If the memory still doesnt work, than it may be defective. I know their are people here with 4gb of memory in their sager np2090

If it works when you switch back to just the 2 512 sticks you might want to check the manual to make sure the computer just doesn't like mis matched sticks.

Yeah, definitely try to push it in further. The gold contacts should not be showing much, if at all. I had this problem the second time I upgrade my memory (from 1GB to 2).

Well, he tested the sticks one by one, so i guess he knows how to put in the sticks correctly!
