I have been told that many notebook CPU's suffer performance reduction after 3 months or so because of heat.
1 - Does such a thing actually exist?
2 - How much (I have been told 25%)
3 - Which models? Does it include all notebook models ?
thnx.

(1) No. I guess it might happen if the cooling system gets full of dust, but you can clean that out.
(2,3) As above. It won't happen at all unless the cooling system is full of dust. If it is full of dust, the CPU will slow down however much is needed to keep it cool (if it's got enough dust that the fan isn't moving any air at all, it'll probably be at about half speed; if it's just got enough to impede airflow then it'll be close to full speed). -
The only way it would slow down is due to running too hot, and not from use. But once its back at the right temps it will resume the same speed.

Yup, cpus dont degrade in performance just because they get older. Heat may build up and slow them down, but that can be fixed like stated above, which would bring the peformance of the cpu back to 100% like the day it rolled out of intel/amds factory.

I'm still using my old Pentium 3. Still races through applications like it 6 years ago. I reckon that a mobile CPU "degrades" is just a myth. You need not be worried about anything. If the CPu does get very hot, you can always use various methords.
Just make sure you don't use the laptop in dusty places or on a fabric bed for too long as dust and fibres can enter the cooling fan and clog it up, meaning heat cannot leave the laptop, possobly affecting a component, particularly the CPU. -
That's what I thought should be right...
And another question,
Are there some powerful fans available?Like the ones that Thermaltake,Zalman, etc Make?
(My pentium 1 is still alive 8+ years old and able to bring up windows 2000 and it supports USB 1 (what really happened to A-Trend ?) ) -
No there arent any mainstream heatsink/fan setups that I know about for laptops.
Pentium 1 is pretty old; I JUST got rid of a strong running pentium (original from 1993 or 1994 cant remeber) acer desktop. Ran strong as the day it came home; but alas my dad finally wanted to enter the 21st century of PCs.
