    Hello,
    Is GPU of notebooks upgradeable?
I heard it isnt, but there are some models that are upgradeable. if so are there any latest ones from MSI or Sager?
    and if its upgradeable, how?

also for how long do you think GTX 675mx can manage to run games in med-high settings from the prospect of future proofing and what about GTX 680m

MSI, Sager/Clevo, and Alienware (sometimes Asus) typically have GPU's with MXM slots that are upgradable as long as future cards are compatible with the slot. MXM IIIb is the current standard for high end GPU's. Even then the proper card from the respective manufacturer needs to be used. Dell card won't always work in a Clevo and vice versa. Sometimes with a BIOS flash it will.

Nobody knows what the future will hold and with new consoles coming out, how ported console games will perform. 675MX is a solid card, and 680m is currently top of the line but don't discount the AMD Radeon 7970m which is pretty much as powerful as the 680m at the price of the 675mx. 680m is already about 9 months old, but can handle any game out there at or near max detail. The 780m will be roughly 15-20% faster due out in a few months most likely. You'd have to eventually expect to lower detail and/or resolution in a couple year's time to play the newest AAA game titles to achieve decent frame rates.

Thank you for replying, im planning to buy one with gtx 675mx but i want future proofing for few years atleast, it can run most of the games in ultra with some titles like Sleeping dogs and guild wars 2 in high, so im expecting it to outdate in 2 years, GTX 680m is too expensive while 7970m is so random at times even slower then 675mx sometimes. i was wondering if i will be able to upgrade the GPU later on

while 680m is the best, it costs around $300 more then 675mx.. i dont want my notebook to outdate in 2 years while i cant even manage the budget for 680m, what do you suggest i should try to get 680m or 675mx wont be weak in a few years? and even if 680m will be able to manage games after few years. do you think it will be possible to upgrade from 675mx to 780m.. guess? lol

Just get the best you can now, the GPU is quite expensive to buy yourself after you've got the laptop. I would personally recommend the GTX 680m if possible or the ATI 7970m both are card which are neck and neck in terms of performance. I think the 675MX is 580m with a few tweaks? built under kepler architecture?

Honest't just buy the highest card, the 7970m has performance on par and in some benchmarks will beat the 680m but they are very close performance wise.

I agree. 680M or 780m will likely cost $5-600 in two years or so to upgrade.

    675M is a tweaked 485M with higher clock. 675MX is a Kepler.

    675m is a tweaked 485m, that is a 580m
