Hi. I was using a Velocity Micro notebook Magix x25 for 5 hours after I recieved it, with sufficient cooling, and it just turned itself off. The battery was still plugged in and the power cord was still plugged in the whole time. I tried to press the power button five times, but to no avail. I waited for the notebook to cool and tried again, but to no avail.

I was playing Fable: The Lost Chapters the whole time.

    Specs:
2.66 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
Geforce 8600M GT 512 MB Video Card
Windows Vista Home Prenium Service Pack 1
    Bluetooth Added
    2 GB DDR2 RAM

More specs can be seen here...

I believe the model number is

    "Manufacturer's part number PROMAGIXX25"

I have asked this before and have recieved the following questions...

I do not know what a beep code is???
    How does a BIOS boot???
Caps lock and Num Lock do not flash... they just stay on when I need to.

    Need translation with this suggestion...
If you can answer these, we can get you on track and find out what has went wrong.

You can try to clear the cmos by removing the ac power, battery and the bios battery from the system. That will cut the power to the board and reset the bios. If that doesnt work than you will have to try more things.

Try removing the memory from the system. If you get a beep that is good. If no beeps than your motherboard is toast.
Try using one memory card at a time and booting. The problem may be related to one memory card being corrupt.

Try to tell us as much as you can so that we can help you.

    Thank you.

If you are having a major problem after 5 hours, I highly recommend you RETURN the notebook for a refund.

Sounds like it died. But anyway try the following

Take the AC power and battery pack out

Hold the power button for 30 seconds or more

Only plug in the AC power this time and try starting up again

Actually that laptop is a Velocity rebranded ASUS C90S. AKA, you paid more for the velocity name.
If it is a day old, or so then I recommend grabbing the receipt and returning your system. You should not be having problems on day 1. Early problems, like this are a sign of a defective part.

What I was trying to say, is that you need to get rid of all of the power on your laptop to clear the laptops memory. When the laptops memory is clear, (aka, the system has no more power) than the BIOS will reset itself when the system is powered on again.
You will need to remove the ac power plug, the main battery and the small bios battery which is located inside of your computer. You will need to remove all of them to rid your system of power. Than leave your laptop powerless for about 5 minutes. Then plug in the ac power and power on. The Bios will automatically reset itself. Then simply shut down teh laptop. Then put the bios battery back in. DO the same for the main battery.
The Bios is basically the software which tells your laptop what to do. It scans for hardware and will allow you to set the way in which your laptop works/boots and so forth.

However if you do not know what all of this means, you should really just go an return it. Then get your money back and buy a much cheaper ASUS C90S from xotic PC or rjtech, or sager, and save a ton of money. Its the same system.
