How on earth do I force it to 60hz? It's an LED lit panel so is that the norm? Will it even do 60hz? It's stuck on 59hz, and I think thats where alot of my screen tearing comes from also, because all my game settings have the lowest being 60hz. Or does it even matter?

Some do 60 Hz, some do 59 Hz. I don't think it matters.

    hth.

Just checked my VAIO - 59 Hz. But it does show options for 50 and 60 Hz too (but it won't stay at 60).

I believe it's because Windows 7 doesn't round up the refresh rate when reporting it to programs. So your 59 Hz is actually 59.99 Hz. You can try to fix this by using Nvidia Control Panel and setting a custom resolution/timings, and set the refresh rate to something like 60.01 Hz. However, that said, the "problem" in itself isn't that serious. The only time it'll cause an issue is when a program/game explicitly checks the refresh rate of your monitor and refuses to run properly without it being at 60 Hz.
