In the August issue of Mobile PC, there are two really good articles. The first one deals with tweaks to the XP operating system, specific to notebooks. One of the things I've found about alot of tweaking guides is that they are really centered on desktop performance. This article is written with the laptop user in mind and has some good info.

The other article is about upgrading notebooks. The authors purchased several different notebooks to give general perpspectives on upgrading the HD, RAM, and CPU. The article is more of a guidline as it doesn't address any particular model and comes with alot of caveats.
