I recently bought a new Crucial 4gb RAM for my Lenovo Thinkpad. I have noticed while using Windows the computer will shut down randomly. I decided to test the memory using memtest86+ with a bootable usb drive. During the test, the computer shuts down every time I do it.

It also does this every time I use Windows 7's own Memory Diagnostic program.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Is there something wrong with the new RAM I bought?

Yep. I'm guessing it doesn't happen with the previous memory config? That's why we test, easy to just exchange it this close to purchase.

Sure, but don't see why I should have to shell out $12 to ship the faulty product back to NewEgg.......... < /rant>

Usually you can email their customer service and they will waive the return shipping.
