So I recently purchased my laptop, Sager NP 5793, and it came with such wonderful specs considering the price, but the one department I knew would be a bit under the weather was sound.
Although the Realtek HD Audio is nice, works like a charm, it's not quite what I would desire. I am fully aware that laptops take the shaft in the audio department (as far as I've read), but I would love to push it to whatever I can.
I'm not setting a price range down, because at the moment, I'm not concerned about price, just about the best options. The two primary functions would be for gaming and music/editing software (interest/hobby, nothing more). I would love to take advantage of EAX to the highest level mainly.
I currently run both Vista 64 and XP, using whichever as I need them. I have heard that XP is the best options when utilizing with games, which is fine with me, as alot of my games are run through XP over Vista. I also use either a surround sound setup (5.1 at the moment) but also a headphones when I don't want to be loud. What are the best options?
Everything is game right now, and I just purchased the Creative X-Fi Audio Notebook last night to test it, the card broke this afternoon and no laptop could revive it (simply wouldn't turn on anymore), so Creative lost more points with me.
Thanks for all the help!
