We have an ADSL router in our study which the desktop in there is directly connected to. Then there is another computer in another part of the house and they are connected wirelessly. Now I recently got my laptop and connected to the network no problems and accessed the net. However, it appears as though the internet is dropping out more often on all computers. My family blames it on my laptop, and although I've defended the laptop vigorously, I'm not too sure it's not playing a part.

For those who live down-under, I'm with Exetel. BTW my laptop is as per the stats listed below.

    Thanks to all in advance!!!

Perhaps a router firmware or card driver update will help.

Yeah, most likely it's your router firmware that's acting up. Which router are you using? Could also be because your ISP just happened to start carrying out some work on the line the same time you connected your laptop. Go on their website and check whether there are any open outages.

The router is a Dlink DSL G604T and i dont think it is the ISP working on our area since I doubt they would be working at 8pm and then at 11am and all different times over a few weeks.

    thanks but
