I own a HP Pavilion dv5-1181en Entertainment Notebook PC and im pretty satisfied with it, works pretty well, but if i play a game with high graphic requirments, the coolers inside start to work much faster, and the laptop heats in aprox 10 minutes. The used power plan is HP Recommended, and sometimes High Performance (wich causes it to heat even much faster), but if im wathing a movie or just surfing the net i go in Power Saver (and it works very good, doesnt heat almost at all). What i want to ask is if this heat can damage the notebook overtime, cause sometimes i play games like batman arkham asylum for over 2 hours, and the notebook becomes like a grill. If this can rly cause some dmg, i might think to buy some extra coolers support for it.

yes, heat is probably the single most common cause of electronic hardware failures and the price that is paid for having a thin laptop. Definitely recommend getting a good notebook cooler and maybe removing ram door, etc. if you are not going to move it for better airflow.

lvnatic, download HWMonitor and post your CPU, GPU and HDD temps.
My computer is cool on the outside, an oven on the inside, but it's temps are within limits. -
I have a similar laptop and getting a notebook cooler helps a lot in dropping temperatures... and Speedfan is a better program than HWmonitor to montior internal temps...

this are in normal conditions, with no games opened -
replace the stock thermal paste with AC MX-2 and use the undervolting guide. I've got my t9400 down from 1.175vcore and 83/84c on load to 0.98vcore and 68/69 on full load. I haven't even used AC MX-2 yet

well idk if i will use that guide, seems a bit difficult and it can cause some bugs as i read, but i want to ask if those coolers will be enough, a support table with 3 coolers will be enough to keep it at a decent temperature for lets say 4 years at least ?

There is nothing wrong with your laptop. Those temps are perfectly normal....

problem with constantly running 'monitoring' software is that they put an additional load on your system. On big iron, things like OpenView and Tivoli can easily soak up 6-7% of system resources just to tell you what the other 95% of the system is doing. That extra system load is often just enough to prevent the supervisor/hypervisor from dropping the cpu(s) and ram into low power modes.
PC/laptop monitors do the same thing on a smaller scale.
The challenge of course is that snapshot point-in-time monitoring of ANYTHING is generally useless. You need to be aware of trends and nominal readings to be able to highlight anomalies. -
OP has issues with load temps, not idle temps.
lvnatic, open up that game and play for a while and then post up your temps. -

Those temps are fine for idle. Try playing Arkham Asylum for an hour and post back the maximum temps
Heat wont damage it as long as your CPU and GPU stay below 80c -
My notebook was very warm on the outside but after I purchased a notebook cooler, just a few days ago, I could already feel the difference. My laptop was on for about four hours and it was just a little bit warm. So you should definitely buy a cooler.

CPU, GPU is fine, HDD is great.
All very decent load temps. Something to be worried about would be temps in 80s or higher for CPU/GPU or higher than 55C for HDD. -
