I have a Pavilion dv6281ea. Since removing vista and installing XP , a strange sound comes from speakers/earphones whenever bluetooth/wifi is on. Can anybody help?

Hi there Fadi,
Small check list for you, sorry if any of it seems obvious:
- Have you recently moved the laptop from where you used to use it?
- Have you dropped the laptop or has it suffered any other impact related stress?
- Are there any fluctuation's in the intensity of the sound from the speakers?
- Are you using the laptop near any sources of electromagnetic radiation? I.e. A radio, your TV, your mobile phone, a dvd player etc?
- Have you made sure that your audio drivers are up to date, especially that the drivers you have are designed to work on XP?
It's very unlikely that a change from vista to XP is the reason for the strange sound. -
Thanks for the reply brks. I'll try to check if the drivers are up to date.
-
did any of those in the list cause the problem? Has the problem been solved?
Hope so -
Hey there brks, the drivers were up to date so I uninstalled/reinstalled them and the sound disappeared. Notebook's working just fine now. Thanks for your help.

If any of these drivers did not install, nevermind. Just connect to the internet, go to device manager and update all items flagged with a yellow interrogation mark.
Hope that'll help.
