Is it possible to upgrade the notebook with a sound card supporting 5.1 sound. I plan on connecting it to my TV but on my notebook i have only the headphones "hole" . Is there some kind of external sound card solutions or ?

    Thank you.

Try a USB soundcard from Creative.

The PCMCIA or Express Card ones are better...

    Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (PCMCIA)
X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook (Express card)

It is on the left of my Dell Inspiron
I will probably purchase an express version sometime soon. I elected to go with the audigy option, which only gave me the software (what a bummer). Bad choice.

make sure you have a PCMCIA card slot before you make the purchase. i do and Audigy 2 ZS is an improvement over my AC'97.
