Can I put in a nvidia quadro fx3600 into my dell inspiron e1705. I know I can put in a fx 2500m, but not sure about the 3600m as I would like a little more power for my games and DirectX 10 is nice. Also would I need to replace my power adapter with 150 watt? Just some questions I hope can get some answers. Thanks!

Unless the model already can be configured with it, I doubt you will be able to.

It is not possible to upgrade your graphics to a fx3600m. Not only will the card not fit, but it will not be recognized by your system. Your system BIOS reads DX9 cards, with the FX2500M and the 7950GTX being at the top

Some people at Notebookforums already tried the Quadro FX 3600M from the Precision M6300 on the Inspiron 9400 (E1705)/ XPS 1710/ Precision M90, but there are BIOS issues as expected, so it doesn't really work...

Otherwise, the Quadro FX 3500M was also offered for the Precision M90 and should work too. And yes, you need to replace the power adapter.

Take a look at this guide as well.
