So im in dead lock for my new laptop, the dell insirion 1520, or the HP DV6500t. Heres the thing the 6500t looks alot better and is lighter, but the 1520 has the better graphics card, what im trying to get at is will i notice a big difference with the 8400MGS, as i can get the HP for about $250 less and the same specs(some cupon thing my dad gave me). Will i be able to run things like Battelfield 2 and 2142, CSS, on high setings with ok FPS?

Can anyone that has either of these graphics cards point to a good review on them, posibly with some screenshots, or shed some insight to my problem?

Also the HP has an HDMI port incase i decide to put in an HDDVD drive later on.

The answer to running BF2, 2142, and CS on high or even medium with a decent FPS is NO with the 8400M GS.

The 8600M GT is a VERY good card compared to the 8400M GS. There are screenshot threads in the Gaming forum for both the 8400M and 8600M. Have a look.

the 8400 is only good for telling people you have a dedicated nvidia video card in your laptop.

I got the 1440x900 screen and I love it. I also read those graininess posts but I love the screen. It's very nice and the laptop is very sturdy.

    Good one.

I am going to use that, something like "I chose the 1150, why have an average dedicated card when I can get all this extra battery life"! ;)

8400M GS is good for World of Warcraft and that's about it ;)

Seriously, even if the 8400gs is weaksauce to any higher-end dedicated graphics, the 8400gs is LIGHTYEARS ahead of integrated graphics.. it's no slouch.. Seeing Fear running on the 8400gs at near full settings, albeit perhaps low resolution, was still a real treat to see.

I have a 8400M GS and I get 100 frames per second at 1280 resolution on CS Source.

I guess that's not decent
