    I'm looking at three laptops, two of them have Nivida 9600GT/GS and one has Radeon 3650. I know a lot about Nvidia, but what is the Nvidia equivalent to the Radeon 3650 (aka ATI 9600Pro is roughly equal to a Nvidia 5700) and which one is overall better? Please DO NOT turn this into another Nvidia vs ATI debate, just straight answers please.

    9600, depending on what type of memory it has. For future reference, check out the following thread...

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=302231

    They're all pretty close. If you're wondering what's supposed to compete with what...

    HD2xxx vs. GF 8xxxx
    HD3xxx vs. GF 9xxxx
    HD4xxx vs. GTX series

    As for both brands, the 2nd number indicates how powerful each card is (or at least, it usually does)...
    2/3 = low end
    4 = upper low end
    5 = lower mid end
    6 = mid end/upper mid end
    8 = high end

    So in both cases, they're upper mid end cards.

    What type memory do the three graphics cards use?

    From random benchmark numbers the order appears to be(lowest to highest) radeon 3650, then geforce 9600m gs, then geforce 9600m gt.

    But it really depends on the clocks of the GPUs in the computer, and the CPU etc.

    Look for benchmarks specific to the computers, or you might get a surprise when you get it.

    Memory amount doesn't matter, it's the memory TYPE. GDDR3 or DDR2. GDDR3 is better (as you could have guessed).

    9600M GT GDDR3 > HD 3650 GDDR3 > 9600M GS GDDR3 > 9600M GT DDR2 > HD 3650 DDR2 > 9600M GS

    The differences aren't that big between any two adjacent cards though.

    I think all 3 laptops are DDR2 (cheaper).

    they are all pretty similar, it will really depend on what games you want to play then, if valve is your crack. Then the 3650 is the go, but if everything else is then the 9600m gt is.. however if any of em have gddr3 in em for memory it *should* be superior to the others

    lol I certainly agree... But I have to admit I think they are both fairly equivalent in terms of video game graphics performance..
