Okie doke, I want to try to overclock my dell M6300. It has an Intel T9300. Runs at 27C idle and 40C full load. I would like to go to 3.0ghz if possible, but of course being a dell cannot OC via bios. So, I'm looking for alternatives that are reliable.

Youll need the PLL which is pretty much impossible to get since dell doesnt release them. You could open it up and look around but i wouldn't recommend that.

yes the best way is to open up the notebook and find the PLL (clock generator). I can help you find it if you post a photo of your motherboard.

The other way to do it is to download setfsb.
select the first clock generator on the drop down list.
try to overclock. if it doesn't work then select the next clock generator on the list and try again.

do this untill you can overclock or you have tried every clock generator in setfsb.

BTW setfsb doesn't support the montevina platform, so it's important to know what chipset your notebook has. I'm lazy and wont check for you, so please tell me what chipset you have and I will give you more advice :)

Edit: @user with the long sig pic, please fix that so the layout of the thread is fixed :)
