My only question is...
I thought I read somewhere that the GT is GDDR3 while the GS is the GDDR2. I'm assuming I'm wrong.
Either way, I can get a pretty solid system built by myself for a good price between mail-in-rebates. Compared to other sellers, it's a huge savings.

Typically when you see a notebook with similar specs selling for a lot less, the build quality is less. They've got to make up that money somewhere. I've not seen the OCZ. I can't comment on it specifically.

Regardless, aren't the Dell XPS fit with 8600M GT? (Not sure the whole specs.)
Here's what I would pick out, at least.
Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4GHz - 244.00
OCZ 4B DDR2 667 (2x2GB)
OCZ DIY Gaming Notebook w/ 8600M GT combo. - $791.98 + $125 in mail in rebates.
WD 160 GB 7200 RPM (all i need) - $109.99
MS Vista Home Premium 64bit - $109.99
Zalman Utlra Quiet Notebook cooler - $44.99
Artic Silver 5 compound - $5.99
Total comes to.. $1343.80 w/ s+h. $1217.80 after mail in rebates.
Alternatively, I was looking at the Asus C90. Not too sure what I'd want to play around with. OCZ made it pretty simple from what I've seen. -
Ack, double post.

I did not see it was a barebone. By the time you add the parts, that'll make it much more expensive. You could probably shag a Vostro 1500 with the same card for less from the outlet store. I think the 1500 was pretty solid for the money, if a bit heavy.

Going to XoticPC, the one I'd configure would run about $1501. My configuration? $1162 until you add in the cooler. I'll take saving $339
It's also about the thrill of having something you built yourself. -
