Anyone out there using one of these? This was the only part in my notebook (specs in signature) that I've been waffling over. I was originally going to get a 120GB Intel 520, but decided to just get the OCZ Synapse in the eleventh hour.

Actual user reviews seem somewhat mixed, but I ran across a very positive report over at storagereview.com. Here is their review:

Anyhoot, if anyone is using one of these here I would love to hear how it's been performing for you and if you've been overall happy with it. Thanks.

I wish companies would sell the software separately so we could use this technology with SSDs we already have.

Yes, it would be really nice if they sold that software separately.

I'd imagine a lot of people would jump on it.

Like I posted in the crucial cache drive thread, it is not the drive bench that matters, it is the software that matters. Idk if these reviews have no way to know what the software is doing or they don't see the point.

I already know how fast the cached stuff are, I just want to know how and when the stuff get cached..

I've had my eye on that for some time, but it's only available to major OEMs. They really shot themselves in the foot on that one - I would have gladly purchased it for my desktop/HTPC and probably the wife's too if she complained how slow it was enough times - instead I went with Z68 for the former two and an old 256gb SSD in the latter.
